Sorted, recycled, spun, and woven in Italy, our partner Manteco created a plush fabric that is made completely of recycled wool, helping to divert pre- and post-consumer virgin wool textiles from landfills and putting this valuable fiber back into circulation. The color in this garment is made from combining recycled pre- and post-consumer waste, which helps to spare the use of any additional water or dyestuffs. A knit whose back, or both sides, is brushed until the fibers stand up and trap warm air. Cotton fleece is sweatshirt fabric and polyester fleece is the outdoor kind.
It's warm and soft. Brushing takes away some of a knit's give, so most of the stretch in a fleece comes from elastane in the blend. Brushed synthetic fleece sheds more fibers in the wash than a flat knit of the same fiber, and it can pill.
