Fibers that often score better in socks
These usually improve the material score when they are the majority of the sock, not a 10% highlight in a polyester pair.
- Organic CottonA common higher-scoring everyday sock fiber when it is most of the pair rather than a cotton-poly blend.
- WoolAn animal fiber that does not shed plastic microfibers. It shows up in colder-weather and hiking socks.
- Merino WoolA finer wool used in a lot of next-to-skin socks. Same protein-fiber scoring family as wool, usually a softer hand.
