The knit most T-shirts are made from: one yarn looped row after row, smooth on the front and slightly textured on the back.
It gives when you pull it sideways even without elastane, breathes well and drapes close to the body. Thin jersey can twist at the side seams after washing and wears through sooner than a heavier knit.
