The same cloth as the crewneck and the zip hoodie, in its simplest form. At 876gsm — 25.8oz per square yard — Wonder Looper’s double heavyweight French terry carries close to twice the density of a standard heavyweight knit, and a pullover is where that weight makes the most sense: no zip, no hardware, just a hood and a thick, warm tube of fabric that holds its shape on the shoulders. Each piece is made in Wakayama, the Japanese city whose circular-knitting mills set the standard for this kind of fabric. The terry is knitted on low-gauge (10G) circular machines, which leaves the face with a subtly irregular texture and real depth. Inside, large, plush loops cushion the skin, and the surface has been lightly brushed for a half-fleece effect — the loops stay visible but gently raised, so the interior feels softer and fuller while keeping the character of the knit. The garment comes rinse-washed and pre-shrunk, which sets the fabric and keeps further shrinkage at home to a minimum. The cut is a modern athletic fit: a drawstring hood, a kangaroo pocket across the front, raglan sleeves for freedom through the shoulder, and ribbed side panels, cuffs and hem that give the body structure without restriction. Seams are finished with Union Special flat-seam construction, which lies flat against the skin and outlasts the usual overlock. 100% cotton. Made in Japan.

A knit that's smooth on the outside with small loops on the inside, the classic lighter sweatshirt fabric.
It's softer and more breathable than fleece and has some stretch, so it suits spring and fall more than deep cold.
