In the past, sweaters were serious outerwear, made to stand up to the elements. This style is a nod to those great sweaters of the past, made from super soft yet substantial 16 oz fleece. Oversized, relaxed fit.
A knit whose back, or both sides, is brushed until the fibers stand up and trap warm air. Cotton fleece is sweatshirt fabric and polyester fleece is the outdoor kind.
It's warm and soft. Brushing takes away some of a knit's give, so most of the stretch in a fleece comes from elastane in the blend. Brushed synthetic fleece sheds more fibers in the wash than a flat knit of the same fiber, and it can pill.
